No prospects for the formation of Low-pressure zone: Chennai Meteorological Centre

Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are no prospects for the prevailing cyclonic format in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the South Bay of Bengal to transform into a depression zone.

The Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre Puviyarasan had a session with the press reporters today (Thursday, 25th November) and shared:

There are no prospects for the prevailing cyclonic format over 31km high over the South Bay of Bengal to transform into a depression zone.

As such, there are prospects for very to very heavy rain with lightning and thunder today (Thursday, 25th November) in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Ramanathapuram, Thirunelveli, Thoothukkudi, and Pudhukkottai.

There are prospects for heavy rain with lightning and thunder in a few places in Kanyakumari, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, the delta districts, and Puducherry & Karaikkal.

There are prospects for widespread medium rain with lightning and thunder in the other southern districts.

As regards the coastal districts, and Puducherry and southern districts, there are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain and there are prospects for mild rain in 1 or 2places in the interior districts.

As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will be somewhat cloudy for the next 2 days. There are prospects for medium rain in a few places in the city.

Further, as the wind force is rather low, there are no prospects for the cyclonic format to transform into a depression zone!
