Students get ready!! Anna University to begin first year classes from 1st November onwards!!

More than 95000 aspiring students have secured admissions now and the first year engineering admissions have completed for this academic year. From 1st of November 2021, Anna University or AU would be starting classes for the students belonging to the first year of engineering. It is now said that the affiliated colleges belonging to AU would begin classes for the first year students a week later.

From 26th of July, DOTE (a wing of the Higher Education Department) has conducted online admissions for the students seeking engineering seats in TN. What was sensational in the engineering admissions in this academic year was the new 7.5% horizontal quota for the students who have studied in the government schools. It was later mentioned by the additional Director of the Higher Education Department and TNEA 2021 in-charge Dr. T. Purushothaman that the engineering admissions have been completed and AU has given notification regarding opening of its department colleges.  He threw light on how as many as 5882 students got seats in the supplementary counselling. He then explained how in this academic year as many as95069 students were allotted seats that included 7876 candidates who studied at various government schools in TN under the 7.5% horizontal reservation quota.

In the last year, only78682 students got provisional allotment and in 2019 83396 got provisional allotments. It is now brought out that Anna University and its department colleges would be opened for the first year BE/B/Tech students from 1st of November. It was later explained by L. Suganthi, dean, professor and chairperson of faculty of management studies, CEG, Anna University, Guindy campus that all the students allotted to BE and B. Tech regular programmes at CEG, AU through online counselling have been directed to report for admissions from 25th October to 27th October.

Orientation programme would be on 29th October and for that all the students must be present compulsorily.
