GEM Hospital conducts Advanced Colorectal Fellowship for surgeons

GEM Hospital Chennai, India’s premier Gastroenterology and laparoscopic speciality hospital, along with Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons (IAGES)have launched a 3-day Advanced Fellowship Course in Colon & Rectal Surgery, for surgeons who desires to hone their skills on Laparoscopic Colo-rectal Surgeries and management of Colo-rectal disorders. 

The inauguration of the program was held today in GEM Hospital Chennai in the gracious presence of our Honourable Chief Guest Dr. J.Radhakrishnan, IAS – Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, and our Guest of HonourDr. B. Krishna Rau, Professor Emeritus Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University.

During the inauguration, Dr. C. Palanivelu, Chairman, GEM Hospital said, “I am proud to share that GEM Hospital is the first to introduce Laparoscopic Surgery for Colorectal Cancers. We have performed more than 5000 Laparoscopic Colorectal Cancer Surgeries in last 30 years. It gives us immense pleasure in organizing the fellowship course in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery ‘FALS Colorectal 2021’ under the aegis of ‘Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons’ from 22nd to 24th October 2021.Senior surgeons with a minimum of 6 yrs standing and experience in colorectal surgery are entitled for this course certification.”
