The lives of students haven’t been easy since last year!!

The Coronavirus pandemic has been creating huge issues for the school students from last year onwards is a known fact. The schools have been shut down for a long time and the students have been learning through online mode. With the number of Covid-19 cases going down in TN, the schools have reopened recently for the classes 9 to 12. Soon, schools would resume for the students of classes 1 to 8 also.

The school education minister Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi on Tuesday has informed that there would not be any quarterly examinations for the students of classes 10, 11 and 12 especially in the government schools.  The minister was busy taking part in a review meeting regarding reopening of schools for classes 1 to 8. He revealed that the situation was not there to conduct quarterly exams and half yearly exams for the students. He made it clear that in March annual examinations would be conducted and to know about the preparations of the students a test or integrated examination would be conducted in December. Announcement about this integrated exam would be made soon.

It is now brought out that the decision not to conduct quarterly and half yearly exams has made the students happy. Point is that parents and teachers were not happy due to this decision.

According to a parent of a student belonging to class 11, the performance of the students would be affected if they appear for the board exams directly without appearing for quarterly and half yearly exams. It is known that since 2020 the students did not appear for any examination. As per a teacher, it was clear that the attitude of the students towards studies would become callous if they do not appear for quarterly and half yearly exams.
