Cyclone Gulab formed over the Bay of Bengal!

The Indian Meteorological Department has informed that the cyclone, named ‘Gulab’, has formed over the Bay of Bengal!

In a notification released in this regard, IMD has mentioned:

“The low-pressure zone which formed over the central-west Bay of Bengal has intensified and has transformed into a cyclone!

The cyclone, named ‘Gulab’ is drifting towards the South and is expected to cross the coast tomorrow (Sunday, 26th September) evening across the North Andhra-South Odisha coastal areas across Vizag- Gopalpur.

Due to the above development, the warning has been issued to the fishermen of Andhra and Odisha States.

Further, 18 National Disaster Management Squads have been deployed for the precautionary activities.

The National Disaster Management has informed that 13 squads have been deployed in Odisha State and 5 squads in Andhra State. When crossing the coast the speed of the cyclone is likely to be 75-85 kmph to 95-kmph!”
