Suburban sections between Chennai Beach- Tambaram are crime prone areas

In the recent times, there are many cases of theft and chain snatching in the sub urban trains between Chennai Beach- Tambaram.Efforts is being made by the Railway Protection Force to install CCTV cameras in St Thomas Mount and Tirusulam Railway stations to detect the criminals.
Though there is rise in the crime rate, there is also a good amount of detection done by the RPF. It is reported that 79 cases were registered from the beginning of the year till May.
Most of the cases were either mobile thefts or jewel snatching. All said and done, the RPF personnel have done a wonderful job because major of the cases have been cracked.
