The Coronavirus vaccination drive yesterday in Chennai was sensational!!

It was revealed by data from GCC that 1600 camps were held in Chennai and as many as 201805 people got vaccinated. It is learnt that highest vaccination was achieved in Ambattur and Kodambakkam zones. This has now caught the attention of many.

The news that has come out now is that GCC would be vaccinating all above the age of 18 in Chennai. It is known that there are many in Chennai who have not yet been vaccinated.

Point is that GCC would be deploying special teams to visit the houses and persuade unwilling residents to get Covid-19 vaccination. Thousands of workers belonging to Chennai Corporation have already started their work of identifying those who have not been vaccinated in Chennai.

It is said that the team would collect the details of unwilling residents and take them to vaccination camps in the next few weeks. This week, the number of vaccination doses administered in Chennai would be touching 50lakhs. At the vaccination camps held at various places in Chennai yesterday, Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi and Mr. Irai Anbhu, chief secretary made their presence felt.

At these camps, some residents wanted even others (those not interested to get vaccinated) to be vaccinated to avoid the third Covid infection wave.

Those residents below the poverty line are afraid to get vaccinated for Coronavirus infection. This was according to Mr. Suresh Shanbogue, Residents Welfare Association, Mandaveli. He spoke about how the government of TN must make vaccination a must for everyone who travel public places, offices, restaurants, gatherings etc. He concluded that a door-to-door vaccination administration programme would be needed and counselling must be held.

It was revealed by Mrs. Geetha Ganesh, secretary of AGS Colony Residents Welfare Association, Velachery that 3% to 4% residents in their locality have not been vaccinated.
