Students score full 200 marks now - TNEA merit list released now

The anxious days have come to an end now for the students who have been eagerly waiting for the release of the engineering admissions merit list in TN!!

The merit list has been published by the Tamil Nadu engineering admissions committee and from the list it was clear that 13 students have got full 200 marks. Out of the 13 students, 5 girls have got full marks now and that is amazing.

For counselling, as many as 139033 students are eligible and this includes as many as 136973 students in the academic stream and 20960 in vocational stream. In the single window counselling, which would take place in 5 rounds, 440 colleges with 151870 seats would be participating this year.

As per some officials belonging to TNEA it was confirmed that one of the 13 students who have got full 200 marks was from Karnataka. Truth is that this student is a native of TN and therefore he is eligible for counselling. It is leant that the lowest cut-offs is 77.5 marks. Just 142323 applications have been verified out of the total 174930 registered applications with random numbers. As many as 3290 students were found to be ineligible. Important piece of information is that cut offs were calculated by taking into account 50% of the score in mathematics and 25% of the score each in physics and chemistry subjects.

For the first time ever, a separate merit list has been prepared for the students belonging to the government schools in Tamil Nadu. Point is that it has got 15,660 applicants including 499 in the vocational stream and 20 differently able students. The highest mark scored by a student was 197.9.

Information is that the topper in the vocational stream has scored 193.955 marks. For around 500 seats in the engineering colleges in the sports quota, as many as 1190 students are competing.
