Procedure to register for marriage ONLINE!

In the prevailing crisis period of the coronavirus pandemic, marriages are being performed simply.

This is due to the fact certain strict regulations have been implemented by the State and Central Governments as a measure to check and prevent the raging coronavirus pandemic!

As per these restrictions, not more than 50 persons are to participate in the marriage function!

As most of the temples and marriage halls remain closed due to the above details, marriages are being performed in the respective residences! How to get the marriage certificate in the above circumstances?

It is possible to register the marriage ONLINE!

Here is the procedure:

Documents required:
  • Address Proof for the Husband & Wife
  • Aadhar Cards of Husband and Wife
  • Birth Certificate of Husband and Wife
  • Aadhar Card, Voter ID or Driving License of the Witness

Applying Procedure
  • Visit the website: https://tnreginet.gov.in/portal/
  • Use the option User Registration.
  • Enter the Registration Page
  • Click the Marriage Registration option.
  • There will be several sections. Click the right one which suits you.
  • Details of the option registered will be displayed. Read the details carefully and then click the option Continue Registration procedure.
  • Now, the application will be opened.
  • First register the details of the Husband.
  • And then, register the details of the wife.
  • Then, fill up the details of the witnesses.
  • Now, upload all the requested documents/certificates.
  • After uploading, click the option Attach.
  • Now, the filled application with your registration number will be displayed.
  • In case any changes are required to be made, click the option correct and carry out the required changes.
  • If no changes are required, go the payment page.
  • Pay the registration charges. Select the option submit.
  • Now, your application will be available in .pdf format.
  • Print this. Stick the photos of Husband and Wife. Both of them must sign.
  • Now, revisit the registration Page and Search for your application.
  • Click your application and fill up the details when you will visit the Registrars Office.
  • In the option reservation, select the section you are proposing to visit.
  • After that, time will be allotted and you must visit the office as per the allotted time.
  • The officer in the Registrar Office will check & verify your documents and then issue the marriage registration certificate!
