NO markets etc - Sudden extension of lockdown in Chennai now due to COVID increase!!

The fresh Coronavirus cases have been increasing now in Chennai and in TN is well known.

It must be noted that on 31st of July lockdown in Chennai and TN would get over. In this scenario, the chief minister ofTN, Mr. M.K. Stalin held discussions regarding extending the lockdown.

The news that has emerged out now is that the lockdown has been extended in Chennai and in TN till 9th of August 2021. It has been brought to light that there are some places in Chennai where crowds gather and this could spread the Covid-19 infection faster.

Information is that the district collectors, corporation commissioners and police have been asked to close down these places to avoid crowding. This was as per the official release from the government.

In nine places belonging to GCC, commercial establishments and markets etc would not be allowed to function from today till 9th August. Point is that the vegetable market present from north Usman Road to the Mambalam railway station would not be allowed to function now. Commercial establishments present from Purasawalkam- Doveton junction up to Bells Road would also not be allowed to function. Till the next announcement is made, other norms would be there. Information is that educational institutions, theatres, bars etc would be shut down.
