Welfare schemes announced by CM - 500 bed super specialty hospital in Guindy, a new library in Madurai etc soon

The CM of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin made many heads turn yesterday when he announced many welfare schemes for the people on his father and former CM of Tamil Nadu late Mr. M. Karunanidhis memory. He also spoke about a 250 crore multi speciality hospital that would come up in the future in Guindy. On the campus of Guindy Kings Institute, the proposed 500 bedded multi speciality hospital would come up.

It is known that the former CM Mr. M. Karunanidhis had huge interest in reading books and due to this Anna Centenary Library took shape. Mr. Stalin stated that in Madurai a modern memorial library measuring 2lakhs sq ft would be built in the name of his father at a cost of Rs 70 crores and it would be highly beneficial for those in other parts of TN. To encourage the Tamil writers, CM Mr Stalin announced the Illakiya Maamani award consisting of a citation and a cash amount of Rs 5 lakhs.

It is now revealed that to encourage writers who have received the prestigious Jnanpith awards, Sahitya Academy awards and other global literary awards, the TN government offered to provide them with houses in the districts of their current stay or in the districts of their choices.
