Share auto drivers now take more commuters than allowed and this is a huge concern now!!

Maintaining social distancing is more important now than before as Chennai has been witnessing more Covid-19 positive cases. In this scenario, many cases have been reported of police personnel charging the share auto drivers for allowing more commuters.

As the public mode of transport in Chennai is allowing just 50% passengers and no passengers are allowed to stand inside the public transports. Hence many have turned to these share autos to reach their destinations. Now, these share autos have been sought out most by the public for their travel.

Truth is that in Chennai city there are around 60000 shared autos now. The share auto drivers are making merry and most of these share autos take more commuters than allowed. There are now more chances of Covid-19 infection spread in Chennai.

A regular user of share autos from Anna Nagar to Nungambakkam spoke about how these share autos are taking more passengers now than that is allowed. He hinted that there were also times when more than 6 persons travelled together in these share autos. He wanted the police to take action against the share auto drivers for taking more commuters. Truth is that many share auto drivers did not accept these allegations against them. The share auto drivers were of the view that they were not taking more commuters than permitted due to the present Coronavirus pandemic and Covid-19 protocols were being followed inside the share autos.
