Awareness programme started again by GCC for public benefit

The number of covid-19 cases has been increasing day by day in Chennai now and Chennai Corporation officials are worried. The news now is that GCC has started awareness programmes on wearing facemasks plus maintaining social distancing etc.
In the important zones like Adyar and Valasaravakkam etc, rallies were held by the GCC officials and pamphlets were also distributed to the residents. On Tuesday, zonal officer of Adyar zone Mr. Thirumurugan began campaigning by going to Guindy Industrial Estate and distributing pamphlets to auto and bus drivers etc.
He later expressed his thoughts and spoke about how the importance of facemask wearing was highlighted by his team. It must be noted that there were 151 active Coronavirus cases in Adyar zone as on 17th March 2021. He then hinted that new clusters must be avoided.
In the Valasaravakkam zone, the officials belonging to GCC went to Nerkundram NT Patel Road, Krishna Nagar etc and created awareness among the public about vaccination. The officials later asked the elderly and those above 45 years with co-morbidities to take vaccination soon. It is important to note that the list of vaccination centres has been published on the civic body website. Zonal officers and health officers would be holding awareness events every day.
