Many residents want S3 buses along the important Chromepet-Madambakkam route

It has been 3 years since the S3 buses along the important Chromepet-Madambakkam route were stopped. Now, many requests are being made to resume S3 buses on this route.
In the past too, many requests were made to MTC to resume S3 buses on this route but those requests were unsuccessful. A regular commuter of this route expressed his thoughts and spoke about how a total of three S3 buses were allotted to ply on this Chromepet- Madambakkam route and how there were buses for every 20 minutes. In October 208, MTC reduced the number of S3 buses in this route to two. The bus service was stopped totally after cut and cover drain works began in Chitlapakkam. Poor patronage was cited as the reason for the stopping of S3 buses along this route. Truth is that public view was not sought.
It must be noted that in 2020 Pradeep Karthik Residents Association in Chitlapakkam filed a petition with the chief minister’s cell and they were also informed that the patronage was poor. A resident of Chromepet spoke about the frequency of the S3 buses that were good. He threw light on the buses that were full during the peak hours of time and how that showed that the patronage was good.
