E-seva centres in Chennai to provide Namma Chennai Smart Cards

Namma Chennai Smart Cards would be available across the e-seva centres in Chennai and this was confirmed by an official belonging to GCC.
Yesterday, the chief minister of TN grabbed many eyeballs when he announced the Namma Chennai smart cards. It was later mentioned by an official that this smart card would be used to pay several services provided by GCC like cycle sharing, parking charges, property tax payment etc.
To make the transactions easier, the GCC has launched a smart card to integrate various payments to avail its services is known. By providing photocopies of valid ID proofs plus paying an amount of Rs 100, the residents of Chennai would be able to get the smart cards at various e-seva centres. This was as per the official. It is mentioned that the smart cards would be activated in just 2 days and the smart cards are supported by RuPay.
It is clear that the residents could recharge the smart cards for Rs 10,000 and service charges would be levied for using the cards on the point of sale or POS devices. It is worthy to note that for a transaction of less than Rs 1000 a service charge of 0.65 would be collected. A service charge of 0.90 would be collected for the transactions between Rs 1000 to Rs 2000. For those transactions above Rs 2000, a service charge as much as 1.4% would be levied. In the future, there would be offers for the transactions done using the smart cards.
