The grand Thai Poosam festival commences at Palani Lord Murugan Temple!

There are 6 temples dedicated to Lord Sri Murugan in Tami Nadu - Palaani, Thirupparankundram, Thirutthanigai, Thiruchendur, Pazhamudhirsoai and Swamimalai. Among these, the Palani temple of Lord Sri Murugan counts as the 3rd.
Traditionally, the festival of ‘Thai Poosam’ (The day on which the star ‘Poosam’ falls in the Tamil Calendar month of ‘Thai’) is celebrated at the Palani temple in a grand manner and with great enthusiasm with thronging devotees!
Thai Poosam festival for this New Year 2021 commenced with the divine fag-hoisting ceremony. Thousands of devotees participated on this sacred occasion and had Darshan of Lord Sri Muruga.
The most important event of the grand Thai Poosam festival – the Divine Marriage of Lord Murugan with His Consorts Valli and Deivayanai is scheduled on 27th January and the grand chariot race is scheduled on 28th January.
