Cyclone Burevi - Prospects for heavy rains in 17 districts in Tamil Nadu!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has warned that there are prospects for a very heavy downpour in the next 6 hours in 17 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu caused by the severe cyclone Burevi.

The downpour, which commenced Wednesday (2nd December) in Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, has continued unabated and it is still raining on Friday (4th December).

Due to the depression zone formed in the upper layers of the atmosphere, there have been widespread rains in the districts of Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thiruvarur, Ramanathapuram, and Mayiladuthurai. There have been persistent rains in the districts of Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chingleput as well!

In this situation, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are strong prospects for heavy rains in the next 6 hours in 17 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu. The 17 districts are – Thoothukkudi, Thirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Pudhukkottai, Trichy, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Kanchipuram, Chingleput, Thiruvannamalai, and Villupuram.
