Depression forms in the bay of bengal, intensify to deep depression soon and strike Tamil Nadu

The well-marked low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression now located in the equatorial region of Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast. This weather system is likely to intensify further to a deep depression in the next 24 hours and strike South Tamil Nadu and Kerala on 01st and 02nd December. The deep depression also has an outside chance to become marginal cyclonic storm and throng the coast of Tamil Nadu.

The peripherals of this system will cause squally conditions over Tamil Nadu on 30th November itself and grow further on the subsequent 48 hours. Heavy to very heavy rains accompanied with high-velocity winds are likely over southern parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala on 01st and 02nd December. The northern parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala along with southern parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh will also experience moderate thundershowers wih isolated places receiving heavy spells on these 2 days. In the wake of this depression, intense weather activity will continue in some parts of these states in the subsequent 48 hours also.

Earlier this week the northern parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry were battered by cyclone Nivar which later soaked parts of Andhra Pradesh. The Bay of Bengal has been rather active and another weather system is brewing far in the eastern parts of Equatorial ocean. Shortly this feature also is going to pick up strength. move west-northwest to become a threat for Tamil Nadu by next Sunday.
