“The cyclone Nivar has centred around in allocation centre between Chennai, Puducherry, and Cuddalore. The cyclone is set to cross the coast near Puducherry. Even after the cyclone crosses the coast, its impact will be on the coastal districts for the next 6 hours! Further, due to the rains and the winds, huts, houses, advertisement banners/boards, electricity and communication links may get affected. There are prospects of all low-lying areas getting flooded! Banana and papaya crops may get severely damaged/affected! The pubic must ensure to be in safe places.

Even after the cyclone, Nivar crosses the coast, high-speed winds at 65 kmph to 75 kmph may blow in the districts of Ranippettai, Thiruvannamalai, and Vellore. High-speed winds at 75 kmph may blow in the districts of Trichy, Salem, Namakkal, and Dharmapuri.”
