Chennai Metro City: Rains through the night till early morning!

It has been raining quite heavily from ate last night until early morning today (Thursday, 29th October) in the Chennai Metro City!
Over the last few days, there have been widespread rains in several districts in the state of |Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, with the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season yesterday night (Wednesday, 28th October), it has been raining in various parts of the Chennai Metro City.
As it had rained quite heavily til the early morning, many roads in the Metro City are stagnated with rainwater. This has caused traffic congestion and also a lot of hardship for vehicle drivers. Maximum rainfall of 20 cm has been recorded in Mylapore!
Meanwhile, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that the rains will persist today as well (Thursday, 29th October)!
