The Central Government has informed about the current guidelines allowing various activities like opening of cinemas, theatres and multiplexes with up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity will continue to be applicable till 30th November in areas outside the containment zones.

As per the earlier announcement, the guidelines for reopening activities issued on 30th September were to be in force until 31st October.

According to a Home Ministry spokesperson, the Ministry issued an order Tuesday to extend this period till 30th November.

As per the guidelines, international travel, except those permitted by the Centre, would remain shut! The State and UT governments were given the flexibility to decide on the reopening of schools and coaching institutions in a graded manner.

Please note that this decision has been taken in consultation with the respective school and institution management, based on their assessment of the situation, and subject to certain conditions.

The order mentioned: “Lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in the Containment Zones until 30 November. Containment Zones shall be demarcated by the District authorities at micro-level after taking into consideration the guidelines of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) to effectively break the chain of transmission. Strict containment measures will be enforced in these containment zones and only essential activities will be allowed.”

As for the containment zones, strict perimeter control shall be maintained and only essential activities allowed.

The notification from Union Home Ministry said that these Containment Zones will be notified on the websites of the respective District Collectors and by the States/ UTs and information will also be shared with MOHFW.
