Posted on: 28/Oct/2020 11:05:12 AM
The full moon day this month falls on 30th & 31st October - Commences at 6.45 PM on Friday (30th October) and concludes at 08.49 PM on Saturday (31st October).

Pubic (ardent devotees), on their part, were extremely hopeful of undertaking ‘Girivalam’ (Undertaking a walk around the mountain while praying the Lord Arunachaleswarar of the famous Thiruvannamalai temple) as the public transport and other facilities had been resumed after the lockdown imposition as a preventive measure against the spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic.

However, as the lockdown regulations are still under imposition, the Collector of Thiruvannamalai District, K. S. Kandaswamy, has ordered a ban on undertaking ‘Girivalam’!

Further, the |Police have commenced the task of strict vigilance on this issue – by setting up barricades on the ‘Girivalam’ path!
