Prospects for heavy rains in 6 districts!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in 6 districts in Tamil Nadu today (Wednesday, 23rd September) due to the phenomenon of change in the direction and speed of the winds.

The official from the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre explained in this regard:

Due to the phenomenon of changes in the speed and the direction of the winds, there are prospects for heavy rains with thunder today (Wednesday, 23rd September) in 1 or 2 paces in the 6 districts of Madurai, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Theni, Dindigul, and Kanyakumari.

There are prospects for mild to medium rains in 1 or 2 paces in the delta districts of the South Tamil Nadu.

As regards the Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain partially cloudy in the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs.

Rainfall:  
As at 8.30 AM in the concluded last 24 hours in Tamil Nadu, the rainfalls recorded in various places in mm:

Avalanchi, Pandhanallur, Niligiri District 110, Chinnakkallaru, Coimbatore District, Miladi, Kanyakumari District, Harrison Estate, Nilgiri District 90, Valpaarai, Coimbatore 80, Periyaru, Selaiyaru, Theni District 70, Parambikulam, Coimbatore District, Bhavani, Nilgiri District 60, Nagercoil, Kottaram, Kanyakumari District 50.

Warning to fishermen: There are prospects for high-speed winds at 45 kmph to 55 kmph blowing in the coastal areas od Maharashtra and Goa! Hence, the fishermen from these areas are warned not to venture into the sea for fishing until today (Wednesday, 23rd September).

High Waves: 
There are prospects of high waves of 3.3 metres to 3.7 metres rising in the South Tamil Nadu Coastal areas until 11.30 PM on Wednesday, 23rd September.
