Puducherry Government withdraws E-pass system!

The Government of Puducherry has announced that it has withdrawn the existing E-pass system/procedure for travel.
The Central Government had appealed to the state governments should not block the transport of freight (essential items) and individual travel from one district to another within the state or from one state to another. It was mentioned that in case this guideline is not implemented and restrictions are imposed on the goods transport or individual transport, it will be deemed as a violation of the guidelines given by the Central Home Ministry.
Accordingly, the government of Puducherry has announced the cancellation of the E-pass system for travel to and from the other states.
It is further announced by the government of Puducherry that this cancellation of the E-pass system will be effective from today (Sunday, 23rd August).
