Chennai to get rains for 5 more days

Chennai city is now cooler due to the rains received and the residents are not complaining!!

On Sunday, 12th July, Chennai received moderate to heavy rains and atleast 1cm to 2cm of rains have been recorded in most parts belonging to the Chennai city.

There was rainfall in several districts belonging to TN such as Cuddalore, Kanniyakumari, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Nilgiris, Villupuram, Salem and Virudhunagar etc.

In the next 5 days, Chennai city might get light rainfall in some places. This was as per the prediction from the Regional Meteorological Centre or RMC Chennai. The condition of the sky is likely to be cloudy and the maximum temperatures would be around 36 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures would be around 26 degrees Celsius.

The RMC has predicted that in the next 48 hours Dindigul, Erode, Salem, Coimbatore, Theni, Dharmapuri and Tirupur districts of TN would receive heavy rains at isolated places. There would be thunderstorms coupled with lightning in several places.

At Nungambakkam, the maximum temperature on Sunday was 37.0 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature recorded was 27.1 degrees Celsius. Likewise, Meenambakkam had a maximum temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 25.8 degrees Celsius. 

It is said that there has been a drop in the minimum temperature (1.5 degrees) when compared to the normal average temperatures in these 2 Chennai weather stations due to the rains.

Many weather bloggers have mentioned that there would be rains for another 5 days in Chennai city and in other isolated places belonging to Tamil Nadu.
