Highest rainfall recorded in the state of Tamil Nadu now and rains for next 5 days in TN

The weather experts belonging to the Regional Meteorological Department or RMD in Chennai have confirmed that the state of TN has recorded the highest rainfall in this season. There would be rains for about a week in TN. It is now said that districts such as Pudukottai, Salem and Vellore would get good amounts of rain.
Interactions between easterly trough and westerly trough over TN have been the real reason for the rains now in the state of TN. This was pointed out by Mr. S. Balachandran, director of RMD Chennai. He added that for the next 4 to 5 days the conditions would be the same and there would be rains.
Until Friday evening, over the past 24 hours, Yercaud received 20cms of rain. Places like Keeranur and Arakkonam received 13cms of rain. Chennai had 11 cms of rainfall.
Important information is districts like Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Dharpauri, Dindigul, Madurai, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Salem, Namakkal, Theni and Pudukottai would get heavy rainfall. This has been as per a data from RMC Chennai. There would be moderate rains in the rest of TN.
On Friday, Meenambakkam recorded 115.4 mm of rains and Nungambakkam had 10.6 mm of rains. Temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Meenambakkam and 35.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nungambakkam.
Popular Chennai based weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John called the day ‘Historic’. He explained about how rains from Kerala breached the Pollachi belt also. He concluded that the rains were also spreading to other parts of Chennai that missed the spells.
