Students who had not written the final day exam cannot be declared as passed: Education Minister

The Tamil Nadu State Minister of School Education, K. A. Sengottaiyan has informed that the students of +2, who had failed to write the Final Day’s Public Examination, cannot be declared as passed.

The Public Examination for the +2 classes fort the academic year 2019-20 was conducted in March in Tamil Nadu.

Out of this, some students and their parents appealed that they were constrained to be not in a position to attend the final public examination scheduled on 24th March.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister reviewed this appeal and announced subsequently that a special Public Examination will be conducted at a later date for the students who could not write the Public Examination Final The day scheduled on 24th March. Accordingly, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has decided that this public examination is scheduled to be conducted on 27th of July. The Examination centres for this single Public Examination will be organised in such a way that the students will write this single public examination in their respective schools. The hall tickets for this examination may be obtained by the students by downloading the same on the internet or at their respective schools from 13th July to 17th July.

The private candidates can obtain the hall tickets from the respective examination centres for the private students as per the above dates.

Further, arrangements for the transport will be made for these students to attend the examination.

No examination centres will be organised in the containment zones. The candidates/students who reside in the containment zones will be allowed to write the public examinations in separate rooms.

Minister Sengottaiyan informed that al the guidelines issued by the state government for the preventions of the spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic will be strictly followed during the examination.

In this situation, the State Minister for School Education, Sengottaiyan had a session with the press reporters today (Thursday, 9th July) informed that it will not be possible to declare that the students who did not write the single final day`s examination on 24th March as having passed +2.

Further, the minister informed that out of the students who did not write the 24th March Public Examination, 718 students have expressed interest in writing this examination. As regard, the 34812 students who have not applied for writing this rescheduled single public examination, the minister informed that these students too can write the examination if they register their interest to write the same!
