TN Govt: marks for 10th Standard based on quarter & half year exams and attendance!

Recently, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, E. Palaniswamy had announced the Public Examinations for the 10th Standards scheduled from 15th June has been canceled due to the high impact of the coronavirus pandemic spread and the lockdown imposition. As such, the Chief Minister informed that all students will be deemed to have passed the 10th Standard.

Subsequently, the notification of the cancellation of the 10th Standard Public Examinations was sent to all the District Education Departments.

The notification mentioned that all the 10th Standard students will be deemed to have passed. Further, the marks will be given based on the performance in the quarterly and half-yearly examinations (80%) and the attendance record (20%).

Though the guidance for computing the mark list has been given, no official guidelines have been sent in this regard so far by the Department of school examination of the Tamil Nadu State Government.

However, for compiling the marks as per the guidelines, the Department of School Education of the Tamil Nadu State Government has ordered to send the attendance record details from all the public/private schools.
