Lockdown extended until 30th June in 5th Phase. New relaxations announced.

The Central Government has announced that the lockdown imposition is being extended in all the ‘containment zones’ throughout the country until 30th June.

Over the last 4 phases of lockdown, all activities other than the essential ones are held up from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM throughout the country as a preventive measure against the raging coronavirus. The orders on this imposition can be decided by the respective state governments.

This 5th Phase of lockdown will be strictly followed in all containment zones throughout the country and relaxations will be gradually announced in other areas.

The 4th Phase of the lockdown imposition is set to conclude  (31st May, Sunday). In this scenario, the central government has announced the 5th Phase of the lockdown until 30th June!

The central home ministry has announced several relaxations for all areas except those already marked throughout the country as ‘containment zones’.

The relaxation features:

·        The religious prayer spots, malls, hotels, etc., can be reopened from 8th June.

·        As regards reopening of academic institutions, the state governments and the union territories can conduct a review meeting with the parents of the students and the academicians. Based on this feedback and in consultation with other states, a decision will be taken n July regarding the reopening of schools!

·        It is announced that the resumption of other services such as international flight services, Metro Rail service, Cinema Theatres, Gymnasiums, Swimming Pools, and Amusement/Entertainment Parks will be decided based on the updated situation.

·        Decisions regarding Social, political, sports, entertainment, education, cultural and religious festivities and gatherings will be announced later depending on the developments and status.

·        The State administrations can decide on the categorization of the containment zones as per the guidelines given regarding the raging coronavirus pandemic.

·        Only essential activities will be permitted in the containment zones. No one will be allowed to leave or enter the containment zones.

·        Further, the regions where the prospects of coronavirus rage will be more intense can be identified and the states can announce more restrictions in these zones.
