The Central Government of India has created a new website for the stranded Indians in foreign countries due to the prevailing extensive spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic in most countries and the subsequent lockdown situations in those countries.

The Central Government has imposed the condition that all Indian residents abroad - Indians employed by foreign companies, Indians kept in isolation camps, etc, - have to obtain e-pass from the government.

Accordingly, lakhs of foreign-residing Indians have applied and are waiting! Now, the central government has proceeded to categorically clarify the system of priority to be given among the various categories of foreign-residing Indians.

According to this, the Indians interested in returning to India MUST HAVE REGISTERED IN THE EMBASSIES/CONSULATES IN THE RESPECTIVE COUNTRIES. Priority will be given to those who are in an emergency situation.

The central government has further explained that priority will be accorded to the Indians who lost their jobs in foreign countries, migrating employees, pregnant women, Indians who had applied for the death of the close family member, Indians whose visas are due to expire, those who are awaiting medical treatment, the senior citizens and the students. The concerned persons MUST BEAR ALL THE RELATED EXPENSES in this regard.

The central government has also explained that once back in India, these Indians must strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the Central Health Ministry of India.
