Modi-Xi meeting - sculptures locations closed from today

The District Collector Ponnaiah had recommended the Department of Archaeology to close all the locations of sculptures from today for a few days for safety and security as the Indian Prime Minister and the President of China are scheduled to meet here at Mamallapuram on 11th and 12th October.
The detective police department of both central and the state government have undertaken the monitoring of the area.
The police security has been beefed up with additional deployment all along the route to Kovalam where the Prime Minister will be staying.
Information is gathered that the police department conducted a rehearsal in this area without any prior announcement. It is also gathered that the Chinese security personnel will also be camping here.
