10 new buses of the Chennai Metro Transport Corporations started operating from Avadi to Tambaram in a new route.

Out of this, the start of 7 buses was inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for Tamil Growth and Archaeology Pandiarajan.

Over 3.50 Lakhs residents live in the region under the Avadi Corporation in Thiruvallur district. Apart from this, several public sector Heavy Industries function in these regions. Many private colleges and schools are functioning located near Avadi.

Thus, Avadi plays a significant and prominent role in the Chennai Metro City’s Economy, Industry, and other aspects of development. Thus, buses are being operated from Avadi to Tambaram in Kanchipuram district. These buses take the route via Ambattur, Koyambedu, Vadapalani, and Pallavaram. Hence, because of the long-distance route, it takes more than 2 hours.

So, the travelling public has long been demanding that a different route from Avadi to Tambaram must be taken up via the Outer Ring Road covering Poonamallee and Vandalur-Nemilicherry.

As per this appeal, the state government of Tamil Nadu had already decided to operate buses from Avadi to Tambaram via the outer ring road through Poonamallee and Vandalur-Nemilicherry.

Accordingly, 10 new buses started operating in this new route with route number 206. Out of this, 7 buses start from Avadi Workshop and 3 buses start from the Tambaram workshop.

Out of this, the start of 7 buses from the Avadi workshop was inaugurated with a flagging-off ceremony by the Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for Tamil Growth and Archaeology Pandiarajan.

The Manager of the Avadi workshop of Chennai Metro Transport Corporation Venkatesan and Ambattur constituency MLA Alexander and others participated in this event.
