Decent patronage of share taxi/auto by Metro Passengers

A total of 45,494 Metro passengers have used share auto and share taxi services during the month of May.
In this regard, a press release mentions:
‘Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) had taken extra measure to ensure last mile connectivity for their passengers by introducing share auto and share taxi in selected Metro stations on a pilot basis from August 2018. For this purpose, 7 Metro stations were identified for share auto feeder service which is running on the designated routes with a flat tariff of Rs 5. Similarly, the share taxi feeder services are running on six select Metro rail stations covering an area up to 3 km radius with a flat tariff of Rs 10.’
Statistics of Metro passengers’ patronage of shared taxis/autos
A total of 7,288 passengers have utilised share taxi services in May. The stations include – Egmore (701), AG-DMS (1,601), Anna Nagar East (855), Koyambedu (1,732), Alandur (1,247) and Vadapalani (1,152).
In a similar trend, 38,206 Metro Rail passengers have utilised share auto services. The stations include – Guindy (11,910), Thirumangalam (7,257), Alandur (5,283), Little Mount (4,252), Ekkatuthangal (4,191), Koyambedu (2,726) and St Thomas Mount (2,587). So far, 3,49,289 passengers have used the services from 11 August 2018 to 31 May 2019.
