The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) has announced that the TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) is scheduled to be conducted on 8th and 9th June.

TRB had earlier announced the proposal to conduct TET for the recruitment of teachers in Government and Government-aided schools on 28th February.

It was indicated that the applications can be made from 15th March to 5th April. In this situation, many candidates could not apply as the TRB internet did not function. Subsequently, the deadline was extended from 5th April to 12th April.

Around 5.88 Lakhs candidates had applied throughout the state. In this scenario, the dates for TET has just been announced.

TRB had notified in this regard:

‘TET will be conducted on 8th and 9th June. Accordingly, the first paper examination will be on 8th June and the 2nd paper will be on 9th June.

As per the plan, TET should have been conducted twice a year from 2012. However, TET has been conducted only 5 times so far!

Meanwhile, the government has stopped the salary payment of 1500 teachers (who have not passed TET) working in government-aided schools. Special coaching classes are being organised for these 1500 teachers to write and pass TET. It is worth noting here that teachers who pass TET will also need to pass in the special examination as well.
