Election campaign (parliament and 19 assembly seats) concludes tomorrow (16th) - Final stage f campaign

The election campaigning for the parliament and 19 assembly seats, by-elections conclude tomorrow (Tuesday, 15th April) at 6.00 PM.
It had been announced that the parliamentary elections would be conducted in 7 phases from 11th April to 19th May. Accordingly, the 1st Phase of elections was conducted for 91 parliamentary seats in 20 states including Andhra and Telangana on 11th April. During the 2nd Phase, the elections for 97 parliamentary seats are scheduled to be conducted on 18th April.In Tamil Nadu, the by-elections for 19 legislative assembly constituencies are also to be conducted along with the elections for 39 parliamentary seats. In Puducherry, the election for 1 parliamentary seat and 1 assembly seat (Thattanchavadi) seat is scheduled to be conducted.

The election campaign for the 2nd Phase of elections in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as mentioned above is set to conclude tomorrow (Tuesday, 16th April) at 6.00 PM. As the end of campaign nears, the political party leaders and contestants are hectic with campaigning activities despite the scorching summer days to ensure the maximum of votes!

 Chief Minister E. Palanisamy, the Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, and the DMK president M K Stalin have all been campaigning for the elections without a single day’s break from 20th March!

PMK founder Ramdass, DMDK treasurer Premalatha, TMK leader G K Vasan, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko, DK leader K Veeramani, Marxist Party State Secretary K Balakrishnan, Indian Communist party state secretary Ira Mutharasan, AMMK Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran, Makkal Needhi Mandram founder Kamalahaasan and Naam Thamizhar party leader Seemaan have all been campaigning touring throughout Tamil Nadu seeking votes for their candidates.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi campaigned at Madurai, Tirupur, Kanyakumari, Chennai, Coimbatore, Theni and Ramanathapuram.  Congress President Rahul Gandhi campaigned at Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Salem, Theni, and Madurai. Marxist Communist Pary All India General General Secretary Seetharam Yechury, Indian Communist Party All India Secretary Sudhakar Reddy, the central ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, and Smriti Irani, also participated in the election campaign.

With only 2 more days to go, the campaign has touched a feverish hectic pitch. The Chief Minister Palanisamy, the Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselam and DMK President M K Stalin are set to conclude their election campaign by tomorrow (Tuesday, 16th April) campaigning respectively at Salem (CM), Theni (Deputy CM), and Thiruvarur (Stalin)

The campaigning schedule has reached a feverish and hectic pith in these final stages in the Tamil Nadu political scenario! Further, the security arrangements have been beefed up! Meanwhile, the activity of distribution of vote slips on a house-to-house basis has commenced onon behalf of the Election Commission.
