People residing in the places like Perumbakkam, Gudapakkam and Navalur in Chennai would soon be surprised by the presence of amazing greenery around them. The important point is apart from planting more trees to increase the beauty of the above mentioned places, TNSCB or Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board has got other superb plans like promoting eco-tourism and setting up a butterfly park.
In the places like Perumbakkam, Gudapakkam and Navalur in Chennai 81200, 3673 and 7316 square metres of land are available and this was as per TNSCB official statement. The official then hinted about the lack of many trees at these places.

A senior official belonging to TNSCB spoke about how from the month of July these sites in Chennai would be transformed to green belts by planting more semi grown trees of 6 ft height. He then added that free guards would be present to protect these trees. The point is residents in these above mentioned places would be given responsibilities of maintaining these. He pointed out that in the next 5 years there would be good foliage. There are also some plans of de-silting a canal present near the Perumbakkam tenement and convert it into picnic spot with kids playing area, pedal boats, walkers track etc.

The important information collected is Asian Development Bank would be doing its best in raising the funds. At present, the Perumbakkam residents do not have a place for recreation close by. The official was of the view that it would attract more people from outside and there would be increased footfall.
