BASE student is Karnataka topper in INMO (Maths Olympiad), Sashank K J is the only student from Karnataka to clear INMO in 12th std

BASE always encourages its students to learn with diligence, strive for excellence and to come out with flying colors in the national level exams. In keeping with this tradition of BASE, Sashank K J, a student of BASE successfully cleared the prestigious Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) exam held in January 2019. He is the only student from Karnataka to have cleared the exam in 12th standard and is one among the 7 students of 12th standard across India to have cleared INMO. A student of Foundation Science and Technology (FSnT) programme of BASE since ninth standard, Sashank has also cleared KVPY SX Aptitude test (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) and has also scored a whopping 99.96 percentile in JEE Mains in the January 2019 attempt.

The Indian Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India, which leads to participation of Indian students in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE)  across 25 regions in India on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. This programme is one of the major initiatives undertaken by the NBHM. Its main purpose is to spot Mathematical talent among pre-university students in the country. The Mathematical Olympiad programme consists of six stages. Its starts with Stage-1 Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad and culminates with Stage-6, International Olympiad.
