Call off fast, says College official

The eight students from Loyola College who are fasting for Sri Lankan Tamils’ rights have found solidarity from others. Around 16 other students from different colleges have declared that they too want to join the fast.
Speaking to the media, Vice Principal of Loyola College Fr. M.J. Mahalingam said, ‘The management of Loyola College appreciates the objectives of the fast taken up by our students, but we don’t agree with the method. We appeal to the students to take their health and their studies into consideration and take up the issue by other means after giving up the fast.
