The officials of the integrated Child Growth Plan have informed that the staff of the 2382 anganwadis in the state need not have the task of teaching as the new LKG and UKG classes are set to be started.

In the anganwadis, presently the task of teaching conversation skill for the children in the age group of 6 months to 3 years, and the pre-school preparation task for the children in the age group 3 to 6 and certificates are given,

In order to increase the strength of students in the government schools, LKG and UKG classes have been introduced in the anganwadis and the middle-level female teachers are being appointed for this purpose. Consequently, the other staff of the anganwadis has been instructed not to take up the 3-terms teaching tasks anymore.

Henceforth, the anganwadis staff should focus on tasks such as providing mixed rice items, giving the ‘sathu mavu’ or the nutritional flour, implementation of the growing girl children plan, etc.

An official from the integrated Child Growth Plan informed that the LKG and UKG classes are set to start on 18th January. As the central government is implementing the integrated child growth plan, there is no disruption/harm for the anganwadis employees. The teachers will be restricted to the teaching task only. The task of increasing the number of students’ admission is entrusted to the teachers only.
