Prospects of the onset of Northeast monsoon season after 15th October

Earlier, there were symptoms noted for the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season as per the climatic changes in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. At that point, it was estimated that the northeast monsoon rainy season may start by 8th October.
However, immediately later, 2 cyclonic formats developed in the 2 Seas thus thwarting the possibility of the onset of northeast monsoon season.
There were widespread rains last week in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the low-pressure zone which formed.
In this situation, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season after 15th October.
The centre further informed that due to the phenomenon of the thermal convection, there are prospects of rain in 1 or 2 places in the next 5 days.
The Chennai Metro will remain cloudy.
