24 Special trains from Chennai for Deepavali festival

The Southern Railway officials informed that arrangement has been made to operate 24 special trains for the occasion of Deepavali from the Chennai Metro City, Central and Egmore railway Stations.
Deepavali is being celebrated on 6th November this year (2018). The reservations for the regular trains have been completed within a few minutes of the commencement of booking the train ticket. So, many passengers are left to check for the special trains to be run by the Railways.
The officials explained in this regard that the reservations for th regular trains have been long since filled. There is a huge waiting list as well. They have selected that routes where there are large waiting lists. A consultancy-cum- review meeting is scheduled to be conducted shortly presided by all the senior railway officials. Accordingly, they expect that 24 special trains may be operated from Chennai Central and Egmore stations. Apart from adding a few more coaches n the regular express trains, the special trains are also being arranged.
