There is substantial increase in total number of students opting for law courses. On the contrary, there is dip in interest shown towards engineering counterpart. As a result, students competing for seats in colleges affiliated to Dr. Ambedkar Law University has got cut-throat.

On Tuesday the rank list and eligibility criteria including cut off score for the admission in 2018-19 was released. For general category candidates to admit in B.A.LL.B course, the cut off score is set as 91.5 percent.

Last year, the same was set as 93.625 percent. This little dip is a result of scores and performances of Tamil Nadu state board students.

Starting from 1st June, applications will be welcome for integrated courses.

So far, about 7,644 applications are received for which only 1,411 seats are sanctioned in 11 affiliated colleges in Tamil Nadu. Three hundred of them have got rejected. This implies that for one seat, there are 5 student applications.

Considering a few years ago, there were lesser than 6000 applications on the whole. It was last year that the count reached its peak at about 9500 as a result of commotion that prevailed whether to take up engineering through counselling or NEET.

According to a press release rolled out by the university, all the eligible candidates will get the call letter through post. This can be downloaded on the official TNDALU website - http://tndalu.ac.in.

Those who are eligible, but still have not received the letter or unable to download can reach the counselling venue with all the needed documents and ID proof. On 23rd July, counselling for general category would begin. On 24th July, counselling for SC/ST candidates will begin and take place for the following two days.

Regarding the integrated honours course for 5 years, it will take place on 21st July.
