It is well known that supporting and protecting various organs of our body are done by our bones. Bones are part of vertebrate skeleton and are rigid in nature. Bones also play their part in our everyday activities such as walking, sitting etc. Hence healthy diet and a perfect routine are needed for our bones to be strong and healthy. We must avoid alcohol, caffeine, salts, steroids etc so that our bones are strong and healthy.

There are few signs that show our bones are weak. These signs are

Breaking of our nails:

This issue of nails getting broken is very common in our lives but we must be careful when our nails start breaking down quickly. The reason for breaking of nails is due to lack of collagen and calcium. Proteins to our body are provided by collagen and due to lack of calcium our bones become weak. Consumption of soya, green vegetables etc would be superb.

Not exercising:

This also shows that bones are weak. Lack of physical activity could make our bones become weak. Bones would be strong and healthy when we do workout regularly or by jogging etc.

Not able to hold or grip:

Sometimes we might not be able to grip or hold things. This is a sure sign that indicates that our bones are weak. There is a correlation between the strength of our hand grip and the density of bones present in our forearms.

Receding gums:

It is known that gums help in the teeth strengthening. As our jaw loses bone then our gums recede or sometimes get detached from our teeth also. Receding gums would indicate about our weak bones.

Dehydration:

Dehydration takes place when we don’t consume enough water in a day.  This dehydration could make our bones weak and is an important sign.

Muscle pain and bone pain:

It must be noted that as we grow older our bone and muscle pain also grows. Getting bone pain frequently is a cause of concern and is a sign of weak bones.

Foods to consume for stronger bones in us:

It is essential that we must take calcium and vitamin D rich foods so that our bones are strong and healthy. Foods like egg yolk, tuna and fortified orange juice could be consumed as they are rich in vitamin D.

Foods like milk, kale, spinach, sardines, cheese, soybeans etc are rich in calcium and these could be consumed for stronger bones.
