The Lorry strike withdrawn suddenly

Posted on: 22/Jun/2018 12:45:53 PM
The strike which was being conducted by the Lorry owners throughout the country as a protest against the price rise of diesel has been temporarily withdrawn.

More than 15 unions participated in this strike conducted from 18th June by the All India Transporters Welfare Association including the Tamil Nadu Lorry Owners Association.

However, as the central government had not come forward inviting for discussions so far, the disappointed lorry owners conducted a review meeting in Bengaluru, Karnataka State and decided to intensify the strike.

In this scenario, the officials of the Central government Ministry of transport had a discussion with the representatives of the Lorry Owners Association. It was informed that central minister for transport is currently abroad and will return only on 28th June. So, the demands can be discussed only after that. So, the officials requested that the strike should be withdrawn until this date.

On being informed about the situation, the All India Transporters Welfare Association administrators announced that considering and accepting the central government explanation, the strike is being temporarily withdrawn.
