Prospects of strong winds blow over the ocean areas

As strong winds are likely to blow over the ocean areas, the fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea.

The warning issued from the Chennai Meteorological centre explains that as the southwest monsoon rainy season intensity is severe, the waves in the western coastal area of Bay of Bengal and Karnataka, Kerala, Lakhdivs, Andaman, Nicobar, and Odisha will be quite turbulent and stormy. Hence, fishermen must refrain from going to the sea.

There are prospects of heavy rain in the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, and Tirunelveli and the areas adjacent to the Western Ghat.

The land winds will blow strong in the non-coastal interior districts of Tamil Nadu  The and wind would be blowing stronger than normal in the Chennai Metro city as well. A maximum temperature of 37 Degrees Celsius will be recorded.
