The latest news is that superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kaala may not be released in the popular Udhayam and Kamala theatres.
Directed by Pa. Ranjith and Produced by actor-producer Dhanush (Superstars son-in-law) under the banner Wunderbar Studios, the film is scheduled to be screened from tomorrow (Thursday, 7th June). Naturally, there has been a feverish excitement from the fans.
However, it is gathered that 2 of the theatres in Chennai Metro City have decided not to screen the film, mainly due to some differences of opinions between the financier and the exhibitor.
Kamala (located in Vadapalani) and Udhayam (located in Ashok Nagar) are the 2 theatres who have decided against screening the film.
As the terms and conditions were not agreed, Kamala has decided to screen Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Wonderbar Studios has come up with some explanations:
- The rumour doing the rounds that the ticket prices are very high is false.
- Kamala and Udhayam theatres disagreed on the terms and conditions which were, however, accepted by the other theatres.
- News doing rounds that huge demands are put forth on this occasion is absolutely false.
