Registration for counselling for engineering courses - Last day today (2nd June)

Today (Saturday, 2nd June) is the last day for applying for counselling for the engineering courses offered by Anna University. The students who have completed +2 and interested in joining the engineering courses and colleges under the Anna University must participate in the Tamil Nadu Government counselling sessions.
The seats will be allotted as per the merit/rank list as per the preferences of the individual students.
The counselling for this year is scheduled during end June. Until 2017, the counselling was conducted in the single-window system. Now, for this year, it has been changed to online counselling system. The applications for this commenced on 3rd May. Time was given till 31st May for applying.
However, due to the Sterlite issue, the internet services were disconnected in the districts of Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, and Tirunelveli. So, the students from these areas could not apply/register.
Subsequently, Anna University extended the deadline till today (2nd June). The Anna University Students Admission Council has informed that the applications facility will be stopped at 12.00 midnight tonight. The 38th Convocation of Anna University is scheduled on 19th June at the Anna University Complex.
During the convocation, the students who completed their graduate courses in the 550 colleges and the rank holders in the University examinations will be awarded the degrees. 64 persons are expected to participate in the function.
The former Director of the Indian Council of Science and Technology, Balram, will participate. Tamil Nadu Governor, Banwarilal Purohit will also participate. Anna University staffs are earnestly engaged in the arrangement activities for the convocation function.
