Deadline for linking Aadhar with welfare schemes extended till 31st March 2018

The central government has announced that the deadline for linking Aadhar card data with the central government welfare schemes has been extended until 31st March 2018.
The central government has been emphasising the need to link Aadhar with its various welfare schemes.
Earlier, the central government had announced the deadline for this as 31st December. A case was petitioned in the supreme court protesting against this deadline and demanding an extension of the same. This case was closed today (Thursday, 7th December).
The central government informed in the court that it has decided to extend the deadline to link Aadhar card with the 139 welfare schemes. Accordingly, it has decided that the deadline is extended up to 31st March 2018.
An official announcement on this is expected to be released tomorrow (Friday, 8th December).
