Address verification of Passport applicants to be done within a week

Chennai Region Passport Officer Ashok Babu informed that the Police Department has been intimated that the address verification activity must be completed within a week after the application.
Mr Ashok Babu has informed that for the other districts, this activity will be completed within 3 weeks.
He also informed that plans are afoot to introduce a new App for the address verification activity by the Police Department.
He informed that those applicants who had been intimated to collect their passports on the day when the cyclone Varda cross Tamil Nadu can visit the passport office on any day to collect the same.
Also, the applicants from Puducherry can now collect their passports at Puducherry itself.
