Guindy Childrens Park reopened today

The Guindy Children’s Park which has remained closed since cyclone Vardah struck the city will reopen today.
Cyclone Vardah has caused heavy damages in Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur Districts. This cyclone has pummeled the Vandalur zoo and Guindy Children’s Park. In view of this, these parks were closed. For the last 18 days no one was permitted. At this juncture the Guindy Children’s Park is being opened today.
For the last one week, workers with the Forest Department have been clearing the fallen trees. An official of the forest department said: Between Christmas and Pongal, a large numbers of visitors, from outstations too, are expected. So with additional manpower, the park is being restored.
